Recording Secretary: Amanda Shumway Corresponding Secretary: Laura LeBlanc Alumni Secretary: Joshua Berkey Treasurer: Tami Heyler Historian: Alison Yuravich Parliamentarian: Megan Venerick Congrats to my fellow 2007-2008 Exec Board members for the Gamma Chi chapter. I look forward to working with you all. Go us!!
Something else that's really awesome: I talked to Dr. Crowder today after class and he's going to hear me sing and after class Wednesday and we're going to talk about getting me an audition into a voice studio!! I'm uber excited because the first words out of his mouth weren't "Are you KIDDING me?" So yeah. I have to "work up" two of the songs from my voice book to sing for him on Wednesday. I think that's all the excitement that's happened in the past week. Peace out Cub Scout! Word of the Week: scrotum-cargo (n): used as an insult, essentially meaning a load (and I don't mean a load of poop...)

Hokay, so. I haven't updated this in over a year. And alot has changed since then. So it is high time that I let all of the maybe 2 people that read this what is going on with me. First and most importantly, Dillan and I broke up in September, basically because he was a jerk and didn't bother to get his facts straight. But whatever, I'm over it. It's his loss, and I deserve better than that anyway. Moving on! This year I made wind ensemble, playing contraalto clarinet. So that's been an experience and a half. Last semester we went on a three day tour, plus a day of recording. It's uber stressful, but it's an incredible learning experience all the same. Dr. Brennan is an AMAZING conductor and it's really a priviledge to get to perform under his direction. As far as Tau Beta Sigma goes, my Big got her Kappa little last semester. His name's Joe. We're pretty much opposites, but he still fits into our family line pretty well. And I was excited to get another twin. I think that's pretty much everything exciting from last semester. Now for this semester. Over Christmas break, we held ZOW auditions for this year's production of Oklahoma! and my roomie got the lead, Laurey and I got her archnemesis, Gertie. It was really awesome to finally have a part and have something to do at ZOW other than stand around and look excited or angry or sad or whatever other emotion a particular scene called for. Roomie and I also did half of the choreography for the show, which was an absolute blast. We spent many nights in our dorm room with the London Cast DVD of the show dancing.....God bless the neighbors and the people on the floor below us. Opening night was March 1st and the show went off practically without a hitch, which was great. [Side note: Valerie went to EVERY night of the show and stood there smiling like a proud soccer mom. I love her!] Me and Jess were both very sad when it was over (we cried, in fact). Probably the biggest development of this semester is that I have a new boyfriend. His name's Theodore Lentz and he's from Sayre, PA. He's a freshman, euphonium major. Everyone in Butler Music Center thought we should date, we just were too chicken to ask the other one. But the Tuesday before the show, he asked me out. So we are official. Everyone was like "It's about time." Haha. He came down to see the show on Saturday night with all the skinks and Sara Pysher. Everyone was really excited that he came cause they wanted to meet him. Leandra loved him to death. Leandra even asked me how I could go from someone like Dillan to someone like Theo and she said that I "moved up, like, 84 points". I love her. After the show, we had a skink night, which, of course, I was required to bring Theo to. It was a blast and all of the skinks approved. So yay. We've been dating for almost two months. Last big development of the semester: I became an aunt....in Tau Beta Sigma, of course. My twin, Tracey, got a Tau Beta little (our only MC this semester, Devon), and she's pretty dang awesome. She's probably the best niece ever. Right now, our elections are going on for Tau Beta Sigma, and I'm up for 3 offices: Vice President of Continuing Education [which I REALLY want], Recording Secretary, and Historian. I'll update on how that turns out next week, as that's when we are actually voting and installing new officers. Shit, son. It feels good to be all updated and starting fresh. I'll try to update on a regular basis from now on. That's all for now, I think. Except, of course, for my customary words of wisdom. So, peace out Cub Scout. | So. I definitely haven't blogged in for-fricking-ever. It's time for an update. Let's see... I officially made it through my first semester at Mansfield University as a music ed major. Big accomplishment!! I'm currently thinking about either picking up a music business minor or actually changing my major to music business. But I'm not sure yet. Feel free to give suggestions. And now for the most exciting event of the semester: I officially became a sister of Tau Beta Sigma on April 6. So on Thursday I will have been a sister for a week. Tau Beta Sigma is a co-ed band sorority whose purpose is to serve the bands and the music department. Which, if you ask anyone who has ever been in band or is in band, totally rocks. So yeah. That's flipping awesome. So now I am: Casi LSOR-A GLSOT/E-T TSOT (For all of you non-Greeks out there, this is what that stuff means: LSOR-A means Little Sister of Rebekah and Angela (Bekah is my TBS Big and Ang is my KKPsi Big), GLSOT/E-T means GrandLittle Sister of Tim/Elaine (TBS) and Trevor (KKPsi), and TSOT means Twin Sister of Tracy.) So yay!
Here is a picture of my TBS family line (Left to Right) my cousin/aunt (long story) Kahna, my aunt Dustin, my GrandBig Tim, my Big Bekah, me):
And here is a picture of me with my Kappa Big Ang and my twin Tracy:

So coming up on Friday, April 21st, is Pie-a-Sister/Pie-a-Professor/Pie-the-Clarinet-Consort. You should go and throw a pie at me or one of the other sisters. That's gonna be an uber crazy fun time. I think I'm gonna put in tickets to throw one at my grandbig, Timmy, cause he's silly. Another thing of excitement for me at the moment is that I get to make letters for TBS and I'm getting a jacket!!! Which is wicked awesome. And plus Jessica is my sister now. It's so awesome. We introduce ourselves to people as sisters. However, on a not-so-happy note, we found out about 2 weeks ago that my cousin Austin has to go back to Iraq for another six months. This wouldn't be AS horrible if it wasn't for the situation. See, Austin and his wife, my cousin Sarah, are in the Air Force and they are stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Sarah is pregnant with their first child, Alyssa, and she is due on May 26th, I believe. Austin goes to Iraq on May 12th. So first off, he's going to most likely miss the birth of his first child. And the kicker is that he wasn't even supposed to go. His last six months there, he went in the place of another airman. And that airman was in turn SUPPOSED to go for Austin if he got orders. Obviously that fell through. And we don't even know why he backed out. WTF dude??? Seriously. And then, they wouldn't even give Austin leave time to spend with Sarah right before he leaves for Iraq, they gave him two weeks NOW, which is BS. So we're having a going away party for him on Saturday before he has to go back over to Germany. Okay. Something happy. Cause that's just fricking depressing. REALLY fricking depressing. ::ponders:: Me and DIllan's relationship is really great. It just keeps getting stronger. It's amazing how happy we make each other. We've been together almost a year. Actually, it will be a year on May 5th. It went so fast. I can't believe it's been almost a year already. I guess what they say is true....Time flies when you're having fun. I think my parents have finally accepted the fact that this relationship is going to last, which is a good thing. I definitely can see us together for the rest of our lives. Okay...Now I'm getting sappy. A change of subject is in order. So I got my math test back on Monday and I got an 89% on it. Which is good since it's Algebra and I suck balls at Algebra. I was pretty damned proud of that 89 actually. Haha. I guess that's pretty pathetic. What else is going on? Hmm...I'm going home on Friday afternoon for Easter. The only part that sucks is that we don't have a break on Monday like everyone else cause Mansfield is a state school. But I really don't care, because I haven't seen Dillan since spring break, which is almost a month. I miss him so much, and I finally get to see him on Friday. Plus, I get to make a bunch of letters and it's Easter and yeah. It's just good, cause I haven't been home in awhile. Okay. I think that pretty much covers all of the crazyness. Haha. And now for the quote of the week, taken lovingly from one of my sisters, Gabe: "OH BALLS!!!" Hahaha. Well, time for me to do homework. Until next time...

| So yeah....I haven't blogged on here in, like, a year . So what better time than now.
Okay, time to rant. So we're doing this wondrous thing here at Mansfield at the moment called scheduling spring semester classes. What an effing zoo! So freshman get to schedule first for spring semester here, so yay, I get to register first. NOT!!!
Here's why: I finally figure out how to make all of my classes that I NEED fit in with the classes that I WANT. Which, believe you me, took for-fricking-ever!!! So I'm all done figuring out my schedule, so I went to my advisor to get my selection paper signed. She approves it and signs it. Woot . So I return to my humble abode to log on to WebAdvisor and register for my classes. This is around 1:00 in the afternoon. The page will not load, so I figure, "Oh well, I'll try again in a few minutes. No big deal." 11:30 that night, I am still trying to log on to WebAdvisor. Turns out, they shut the godforsaken server down "because too many people were trying to access it." What the fuck. No kidding alot of people are trying to access it.....The entire freshman class had to register that day!! Needless to say, alot of people were very pissed.
The next day: I get up at 6:00 am, when really, I wouldn't have to be up until 8, so I could get scheduled by 8:00 am, when I was supposed to be scheduled by. I type in my schedule and press Submit.....and start shrieking expletives that I didn't even know existed. The ONLY Intro to Lit class offered next semester was filled ....And I need Intro to Lit and another Lit course by the end of fall 06 in order to take my Praxis 1 exams. So I had to haul ass up to Butler to see Dr. Moulton, (my advisor), and ask her what I could take instead that would fill a Lit credit, without taking two lit classes in Fall. She says, "Try Spanish 1." So I trek back down the 102 stairs from Butler, back to Laurel to my computer, find a Spanish class that fits, and add it to my schedule. Yay! So I run back up the 102 stairs to give Moulton my new schedule. (Now, I have a class at 9 and it's now 8:05. So I'm really hurrying.) I run into her office and am greeted with, "Sorry, you're not going to be able to take that Spanish class. It's the second half of the first semester class. " (Wtf Mate??! What does that mean?!) Then, "But you can take Readings in Women's Literature." I am crushed, because I really wanted to take Spanish... So I have to haul my butt back down the stairs from Butler to Laurel for the 2nd time in one morning. It is now 8:30. I still have to get to my room, register for Women's Lit, drop Spanish, get back up to Butler, get out my viola and my stand, get up to the second floor and have the viola tuned by 8:50 . Not happening. So I get back to my room, and there are 2 spots left in Women's Lit, so I quickly sign up for that and drop Spanish. I made it back to Butler by about 8:49, so I was about 5 minutes late for Strings, minus tuning time.
So, basically what I'm trying to say is that WebAdvisor can suck my left nut. Even though I don't have nuts.
Thought of the day: If Jesus was still alive, would he say "Oh my Dad?"
And on a happier note, I love you Dillan Michael . Happy 6 Months on Saturday! (since I won't get on here before then.) | | |
| hi y'all
I finished my homework so I actually, for once, have time to blog on here. So this weekend was the Allentown Collegiate Marching Band Festival, and I was there with Mansfield's marching band, obviously. We kicked major ass....we owned that stadium. It's like Dr. Brennan said: UMass and Delaware have numbers....We don't, but we still looked better. UMass and Delaware used amplification and have 150 more people than we do, and we still played twice as loud as them. But who did everyone walk out of the stadium talking about?....Mansfield! Sorry, I'm still on an adrenaline high from that. That was the most awesome thing I've done in my whole life, besides going to Europe with AMA.
Well, I'm gonna go, I don't have much else to say.
